The bad dream Before Christmas (1993) is one of Tim Burton's most successful highlight films that was the guinea pig for his innovative and artistic style of writing and producing. The film is based on a three page poem by Burton that was written in the 80s. It advanced into the story of Jack Skellington, appropriately named for his skeletal physique, and his fellow citizens of "Halloween Town." Jack accidentally stumbles upon "Christmas Town" and instantly becomes enamored and obsessed with the holiday. He introduces it to his fellow Halloween Town citizen, trying to convert them into a Christmas Spirit, but he fails to carry it properly and becomes mixed up in a plot to overthrow Christmas. As the holiday hijacking unravels, Santa's life is on the line and the world's children are in danger of having a very scary Christmas. This film is a great family movie. It offers an imaginative and magical plotline, creative and artistic animation, as well as a deeper and more introspective look at the true spirit of Halloween that is so often overlooked in favor of the magic of Christmas.
